Keyboard failure can be due to particles of ash, food and paper dust getting in between the contacts.  We can help prevent this by cleaning in and around the keypads to remove this debris.  The keys, surrounds and cables are then thoroughly cleaned with anti-static KEYCLEAN®

Similarly, all debris is cleaned from the mouse and all surfaces cleaned.
