In order to maintain good quality transmission it is essential to keep the scanner clean.  Initally the paper is removed.  Paper dust and debris are cleaned out of the inside.

The transporter rollers are cleaned and the recording paper replaced.  (Where the recording head is not accessible a Techclean Fax Cleaning Sheet is run through the machine.)

All external surfaces are cleaned with anti-static fluid applied with a brush or cloth.
